Hit Run and Throw rules

 

 

 

 

Hitting, Diamond 1

 

To shorten the field dimensions and make the hitting more exciting, the minors will hit from half way between the mound and second base at 68 ft. The major will hit from 22 ft in front of the plate.

 

·        Each hitter will receive 5 pitches from a pitching machine set at 40 MPH.

·        Each ball hit out of the park will result in a score of 1 point. The player’s total number of points will be ranked, highest to lowest for the purpose of the overall team score.

·        If a first place tie should occur, a sudden death home run derby will decide the individual winner. Each hitter will get 2 pitches until a winner is declared.

 

Running,  Diamond 2

 

·        Each Player will be timed, home to second on two separate runs. The player’s best time will be used and the times will be ranked, lowest to highest for the purpose of the overall team score.

·        If a first place tie occur, the players involved will run a Home Run, The player with the best time will be declared the individual winner.

 

Throwing , Diamond 3

 

·        Each player will have 3 throws simulating a tag play at home plate. The distance of the throws will be from 65Ft, 92 Ft and 150Ft.  These distance simulate the throw from First, Second and the outfield. Each throw will be designated a score based on the accuracy. The ball can bounce or be thrown all the way in the air.

·        The total number of point accumulated over the 3 throws will be used for scoring. The total scores will be ranked highest to lowest for team scores.

·        IF a first place tie occurs, the players involved will have a single throw from 92 feet, with the player who scores the highest being declared as the individual winner.

 

Team Awards

 

The skill specific ranking for the 3 players representing each team will be tabulated. The team with the lowest ranking score will be awarded the TTT team trophy. In the case of ranking ties in the individual skills, the average of the placing will be calculated and resulting number will be assigned to the teams involved. IE  3 teams tie for 4th place.. These teams are 4th, 5th and 6th. Each team will be awarded 5 points. (Calculation 4+5+6 = 15, 15 / 3 = 5)  Calculations will be given to 2 decimal places.

 

 

Award Presentations,

 

Team and Individual awards will be presented along with the Game MVP trophies. The Minor division awards at the end of the 3rd inning of the all-star game and the Major division awards will be presented at the end of  the all-star game.
