On a scorching Saturday , July 15th at 4:00, the Stingers went out to the Roger’s Centre to watch the slugging Blue Jays play the quick Seattle Mariners. We arrived hoping for a nice and clean Blue Jay win. But that’s not all that we got…oh no! We got that and much, much more.
The lead went back and forth throughout the entire 4 hour game. If the Mariners scored runs and took the lead, the Jays would answer back with some runs of their own to take the lead. The Mariners didn’t score that many runs thanks to the help of Roy Halladay. “Doc” pitched six innings with six strikeouts. He allowed four runs on eight hits. Not the best of Roy’s potential but the Jays’ hitting saved the team their win. The Jays’ offense exploded in this game! They managed to get 17 hits off the Mariners! I guess that’s why the Jays are considered one of the best hitting teams in baseball.
Late in the game, our third baseman Trevor gave a statement about what the Jays should do. That turned out to be exactly what the Jays did! Well, I guess Trevor has found his career…a major league manager!
